Last Animation Club Before Christmas
Last night the Cobblers Advanced Animation & Film club ended for the year. After filming and finishing a couple of short films the group were then given limited edition ‘Crew Copie’ DVD’s of their FirstLight Film ‘Accidentally in Daventry’, which is due to be screened next year.
Take a look at a couple of the films they finished last night:
The animation club will start again in the new year.
Wootton Primary’s Walter Tull day
Today 60 year 5 pupils from Wootton Primary visited the study centre and stadium to learn about Walter Tull. They have been studying the topic of Northampton and Walter being a famous ‘Northamptonian’ they wanted to visit his home club. They took part in various activities to learn about Walter’s life playing for NTFC and being an officer in the army.
Lee and Trudi from Football in the Community led stadium tours where groups had to find hidden colour coded cards with facts about Walter Tull on them. We visited the dugouts, all stands, club shop, war memorial and Carlsberg Lounge. The facts were used to create a comic life factfile on the apple mac computers with Ash.
In the study centre, Anna led a session on comparing captain and team photos from 1909 and 2009. Students discussed similarities and differences between the photos and talked about what football was like 100 years ago.
Lynn led a storytelling session about Walter’s life, afterwards the children sequenced his timeline.
Margaret was outside (in the freezing cold) doing orienteering using literacy and numeracy clues to find letter to make an anagram.
Lee led a practical coaching session to finish the day off. Everyone enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot. One boy said it had been “the best day ever!”
