Always a chance 92 club relay launch

Jack here reporting from the Cobblers. I have been filming people starting the relay to go round 92 football stadiums for Always a Chance charity. The charity was set up because two lads were shot in Florida last year and their friends want to raise money to raise awareness about gun and knife crime, it is a real problem.

ITV Anglia, BBC Look East and the Chronicle were here because they wanted to get a front page story to spread the word about the charity and its message. Some of the Cobblers youth team ran the first mile on their way towards Coventry.

Andy Holt was also here, I filmed him being interviewed by Adam who asked him what the event was all about. Paul Diggin, Saints player was also here to lend his support to the campaign.

Our task was to make a film covering footage of the start of the relay. Adam created a montage of the baton, banner and the youth team running out the stadium.

Joe and Paul are friends of the deceased and organised the relay. Adam interviewed Joe about the charity while I filmed, he had the baton.

In April, Northampton’s last game of the season will see the runners coming from Manchester United, 112 miles. The whole relay is 2200 miles.

My Work Experience at Cobblers Study Centre

My name is Riona-lee Blessyn and I have been working the the Cobblers Study Centre, it has been a fun and interesting experience. I have worked with the team by making animations with students that have come to the centre and in schools with Lynn. The activities have been exciting and have taught valuable lessons in science , English and physical education. With some groups, every child has at least one member of staff supporting them and teaching but they are also encouraged to work together. I have also worked in the cobblers stadium with lessons in Tai Chi with the Monday Age Concern group.

Gateway Egg Toss

This mornings Gateway group took on the ‘Egg Drop Challenge!’

After splitting into teams, the boys played a series of Olympic Sport related quizzes and games in the hope of winning rubbish to build protective egg capsules for their vulnerable egg pilots before their massive drop from the Stadium West Stand. Taking on different ideas for their designs from a bin bag parachute to a bomb proof dog tin, the eggs journey was if nothing a dramatic one.

Elizabeth Woodville Animations

As part of a seven week in school animation program at Elizabeth Woodville School, the students were given the task of creating a group animation along a social theme. After brainstorming, storyboarding, sculpting and building the models the group animated over three one hour sessions creating a short ‘trippy’ animation called ‘Don’t Do Drugs’, which can be seen below. In what little time the students had, they managed to accomplish a great deal and all those involved should take pride in what they managed to accomplish.

Cobblers Advanced Animation Club Returns

The Cobblers Secondary Advanced Animation Club restarted last night after a short Christmas hiatus, with films and animation planning beginning for this years larger scale films. Whilst Graham, Dale and Chris planned and began scripting their next film, Lewis, James and Tre began production on their future short animations.

With the use of the new cameras, Tre experimented with camera angles and filming styles, creating this short test action sequence. Take a look below at what he came up with:
