This afternoon we continued to roll out our S2R project with the boys from The Gateway school. Supporter to Reporter is an innovative media project that aims to encourage young people to develop a range of skills to allow them to report on top class sports events across the country. The Gateway boys are new to the project and in the past few weeks have been developing their interviewing and editing skills. They had a very productive afternoon editing and uploading player and fan interviews on to their Support to Reporter web pages as well as learning about Vox Pops. Lewis also caught the one of the Cobblers groundsmen for a quick chat about maintaining the pitch at the Sixfields Stadium.

Check this page over the next few days for Adams exclusive interview with Cobblers First Team members Simon Brown and Steve Guinan. For more Northampton Reports check the S2R website

In our first session this morning a group of students from the Gateway School were the first to complete the Cobblers Parachute Challenge. They had to firstly mould a character out of plasticine and then design a parachute to slow down the fall of their character . The students had to think about factors that would affect the effectiveness of the parachute such as the surface area of the parachute. The finished parachutes were then launched from the top of the North Stand in the Sixfields Stadium and their descent was timed. Bradley won the challenge and managed to keep his model off the floor for 2.1 seconds.

It was hard for some people and easy for others. Next we went inside and had to figure out what the word was. In the end we found out what the word was and we had to make as many words as we could out of the anagram. We found about 21 words so that was good! Finally we started making origami t-shirts out of paper. By Thomas and Connor.
