Animation StudioThis evening at the Cobblers Study Centre young learners from Hopping Hill have taken part in a number of activities.  Half of the group were working with Ash in the animation studio to create a short Stop Motion film whilst the other half of the group were challenged to take over or create their own football club in the Cobblers Club Challenge.  All the groups worked extremely hard and some great teams were created.  Check back for the Hopping Hill animation in the next few days.

Last week animators from All Saints worked hard producing  this short Stop Motion animation.

Take a look at ‘Car Football’ and let us know what you think!

This evening at the Study Centre Duston Eldean learnt all about Healthy Eating. We started off talking about our favourite foods and then grouped them into carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. The young learners were then challenged to create a healthy match day menu for the youth team who are playing in an important competition this evening. Throughout the session the group were also given the opportunity to make smoothies. Watch  ‘How to make a smoothie’ with Dalair and Keir below!

The Cobblers Study Centre recently hosted a sports quiz for Years 5 & 6 pupils in Northamptonshire to celebrate the ‘Boys into Books’ initiative. The main aim of ‘Boys into Books’ is to support the reading needs of boys across the country and provide information about titles which might attract and enthuse boys about reading for pleasure. The day was held at Northampton Town Football Club in partnership with the Learning Resources for Education Northants Schools Library Service and fifteen schools from across the county took part. Tom Palmer, author of Foul Play and The Football Academy Series hosted the ‘Question of All Sports’ quiz in the Players Lounge. As well as including questions about a variety of sports, the quiz encouraged the boys who were taking part to look at a range of sports related fiction and non fiction, websites and newspapers. The quiz culminated in an exciting penalty shoot out featuring Football in the Community Scheme Manager Russell Lewis.

The boys from The Gateway School recently interviewed Cobblers players Simon Brown and Steve Guinan in the Study Centre. Please watch and comment on their interview below.

To watch and listen to more reports from our young Northamptonshire reporters head to the S2R website.

This afternoon we continued to roll out our S2R project with the boys from The Gateway school. Supporter to Reporter is an innovative media project that aims to encourage young people to develop a range of skills to allow them to report on top class sports events across the country. The Gateway boys are new to the project and in the past few weeks have been developing their interviewing and editing skills. They had a very productive afternoon editing and uploading player and fan interviews on to their Support to Reporter web pages as well as learning about Vox Pops. Lewis also caught the one of the Cobblers groundsmen for a quick chat about maintaining the pitch at the Sixfields Stadium.

Check this page over the next few days for Adams exclusive interview with Cobblers First Team members Simon Brown and Steve Guinan. For more Northampton Reports check the S2R website

We are from Duston Eldean Primary School and today we have had lots of fun.  After school every Monday we have been coming to the Cobblers Study Centre.  This week we started off and got to have some biscuits and a drink.  We then split into our groups, my group is Barcelona.  In our groups we went on a scavenger hunt in the football stadium we had to look for letters that were hidden, the clues were mainly maths questions. It got dark quickly which was cool.  Then we came back and ate some toast and got to play table football in our free time.  We have chosen some of our favourite photos from this week for you to see.  One of the Study Centre staff, one of the whole Duston Eldean group and one of our team.  By William and Dalair

Last Friday pupils from Kingsthorpe College were invited to take part in a Reward Day at the Cobblers Study Centre. Year 8’s who have been working hard throughout the term were selected by class teachers to take part in the day. The KC students were greeted at the Study Centre in morning and taken on an extended tour of the stadium. Highlights included getting a sneak preview of the changing rooms before match day and watching the first team prepare for Saturdays match against Grimsby on the training pitch. The KC pupils also got the chance to catch up with NTFC Youth Team player Greg Kaziboni who is an ex-KC student. Challenges such as Stadium Orienteering kept the Students active throughout the morning. After lunch, the KC students braved the rain and took part in a football practical session led by Adrian from the NTFC Community Programme. Back in the Study Centre the students ended the day by making a comic strip about their day at the Study Centre. Thank you to all the students for making it such an enjoyable day!

Hello my name is Holly Wilkinson and I am reporting about Hopping Hill School being at the Study Centre. Today Hopping Hill school are doing robolab, smoothies and xbox while my school, All Saints primary School  are doing movie making and robolab. We took a look at what people from the robolab group were doing.  Loads of them were wanting to make fast cars and do the next task. People from Hopping Hill School are playing on the x-box and they have finished their smoothie making. All the girls from Hopping Hill School are wanting to make smoothies while the boys from Hopping Hill are wanting to play on the x-box. All of them are supporting silly Liverpool, while i support Man U[ Manchester United]. Some of the others support the worst team of all - Chelsea which lost to Liverpool a couple of years ago. Did Imention the reporters Jack, Sandra and me got some tea which we all had 2 sugars?  My friends Abbie and Grace were doing some lego movie making with Jeremey and Crissy and helper Ash [ the movie making master]. I’ve enjoyed being a reporter today but I am really looking forward to the X-box challenge and making smoothies in the next few weeks.web-picture-4pfs-014
