Flynn and Dylan blog about their first session at the Cobblers Study Centre:

“Hi my name is Flynn and I am from  Oaks School.  We came to the Study Centre and I thought it looked wicked!  I really like all the computers and the big pictures on the wall.  I’ve liked making badges and am looking forward to the X-box challenge.”

“Hi I am Dylan and I am from All Saints.  At the study we work with nice staff and other children from Green Oaks.  This evening I liked making name badges and using the computers as I love I.C.T.  I am looking forward to going into the stadium. It has been really fun!”

Callum and Clarence the DragonHi my name is Callum and I am from Whitehills Primary School.  It is my first week at the Study Centre.   I was excited to come to the Cobblers Study Centre because I didn’t know what it would be like.   I ttought it was cool when I got here and I like the inside of the centre especially the computers.  My best activity tonight was making a name badge on the computer, I am looking forward to the stadium tour.  I would tell my my friends the Cobblers is really good!

Kings Heath!Hi we are from King’s Heath and we are at the Cobblers Study centre.  Today we have been doing some activities.  We made name badges on Microsoft Publisher.  We had to use Word Art to put our names in and we had some pictures taken whilst we were doing some activities outside and we had to put the picture onto the name badge!  My name badge had my favourite film in the background.  Some of the boys put their favourite footballers in the background.   I really enjoyed making the name badges and I am looking forward to making smoothies in a few weeks time.  The study centre is really cool!

Teachers and parents from across the town attended our end of spring term presentation evening last night to celebrate the achievement of students who were taking part in Playing for Success at the Cobblers Study Centre.

NTFC Mascot Clarence the Dragon rewarded students with a certificate and goody bag for their hard work over the term.  Extra prizes were also handed out to winners of the Champions League from each evening group.  The Champions League is an extra prize that is awarded to young learners who consistently work well as a team, are polite and helpful and complete each weeks challenges successfully.  Champions League winners this term were Owen, James B and James S from Duston Eldean,  Mitchell from Hopping Hill, Jordan and Jack from KC and finally Amber from Kic.In2.Study.

A special commendation also goes out to a group of girls from Northampton School for Girls who were awarded certificates for completing a Junior Football Organiser course at the Study Centre last term. The JFO course has been designed to offer training in three main areas: planning & organising a fun football session for young people; refereeing mini-soccer games and organising and administering football festivals.

Congratulations to all young learners from Hopping Hill, Duston Eldean, Kingsthorpe College, NSG and the Kic.In2.Study group for their achievements throughout the term.
