Davis, Rachel, Coke and ClarenceLast night Cobblers first team regulars Giles Coke and Liam Davis  attended the Cobblers Study Centre Presentation Evening to help celebrate the successes of last terms Playing for Success groups from Chiltern, Lyncrest, Upton Meadows, St. Luke’s and The Duston School.   The special guests presented certificates and prizes alongside the Study Centre Manager Jean and club mascot Clarence the Dragon to all the youngsters.

The night kicked off with a photo presentation of the activities that have been going on in the Study Centre over the term.  The audience were also treated to video presentations by Dahlia and Heather from Upton Meadows and St. Luke’s and Emma from The Duston School.

Clarence the Dragon was on fine form and judging by his enthusiastic dancing he seemed to be very impressed with the standard of the young peoples effort and commitment over the last term!

Congratulations to everyone who worked hard at the Study Centre this term! Keep up the good work back at school!

Check back here early next week for more photos from last nights event.

img_0039  Hi I am Mitchell from Hopping Hill and today I am at the Cobblers Study Centre.  Today at the centre some people played with Harley the dog, he was very fast and we could not catch him!  When we got here we introduced ourselves.  I told everyone my name, my hobbies, all about my pets and my favourite colour, my best football team and my favourite food.  We got to play the hoop game, it was fun!  We made name tags on the computer and got to print them out and we cut them out and stuck them in a holder.  It has been really fun and I liked being here.  I am really looking forward to coming here next week.

Best Boys“After school we headed down to the office and got on the minibus.  When we were heading through the village we looked at all the people in the cars.  Then we got to the stadium and saw the Study Centre.  We thought it looked small but it’s quite big when you go inside.  When we got inside we introduced ourselves and got toast and a drink.  Then we had a break and played with a dog – it was massive!!  We played games with a big and a small hoop.  After we went onto the computers and made name badges!!  We got to play on the computers and we got to write this blog for the Internet!”

“I really enjoyed the hoop game and playing outside with

Harley. It was funny when we were chasing him around.

I also enjoyed making my badge on the computers and having my picture taken for my badge. After we made our badge we got to go on a quiz on the Internet and I found some of the questions quite interesting! I’ve really enjoyed today I had a fantastic time and I can’t wait to come back next Monday!”

Their programme is based on the popular and successful Playing for Success programme that is delivered at the centre throughout the week.  To read more about Kic.In2.Study at the Cobblers check out the Kic.In2.Study website

This week we said goodbye to Playing for Success students from St. Lukes and Upton Meadows Primary Schools. Our secondary group from The Duston School also completed their final session at the Study Centre by organising, promoting and the playing a Street Football Tournament on the X-Box 360.  Young learners from Chiltern and Lyncrest Primary School missed out on their PfS session this week due to the snow, however we hope that you will all come along to our Presentation Evening on Wednesday 25th February at 6.30pm to celebrate your participation at the Study Centre this term!

Playing for Success at the Cobblers Study Centre has been cancelled for tonight due to the bad weather.  We will be dropping invitations into school for your Presentation Evening due to be held on Wednesday 25th February at 6.30pm.

Youngsters from Upton Meadows, St. Lukes and The Duston School should check back later in the week to check that sessions are still running.
